📝 User Reviews
OZE SPORTS buyers frequently highlight its versatility across HIIT and gymnastics sessions, praising how the NBR base holds firm on hard wood floors without sliding. Bionix reviewers focus on joint cushioning: one buyer recovering from knee surgery described it as the first mat that let them kneel comfortably through a full class.
🏆 Verdict
For most UK home fitness users, the OZE SPORTS mat at £11.99 is the clear starting point. It covers more disciplines, offers a larger surface, costs less, and comes with an explicit returns policy. Stretch to the Bionix at £16.99 only if you do floor-heavy Pilates or restorative yoga daily and need the denser foam, or if outdoor and camping sessions are a regular part of your routine.
OZE SPORTS best for home fitness generalists who mix yoga, HIIT, and floor work on a budget. Bionix best for dedicated yoga and Pilates practitioners who prioritise joint support and want a waterproof mat that works outdoors or on camping trips.
❓ FAQs
Do both mats grip hard wood and laminate floors?
Yes. Both use a textured NBR base that holds on smooth hard surfaces without a separate grip layer. The Bionix's slightly heavier build at 1.20kg may feel more planted during balance poses, but the OZE SPORTS mat performs comparably on any flat, firm floor.
How does 10mm compare with a standard yoga mat?
A standard PVC yoga mat runs 4 to 6mm thick. At 10mm, both these mats offer roughly double the cushioning, which matters most for kneeling sequences, core work, and Pilates moves that put sustained pressure on joints.
Can either mat be used outdoors?
The Bionix is marketed specifically for camping on UK retailer sites including Top-Dad.co.uk, and its waterproof construction handles ground moisture and damp grass. The OZE SPORTS mat is moisture-resistant, which is fine for indoor sweat, but it is not rated waterproof and is better kept to indoor sessions.
